Iris Nouveau - a new design in my online shops and new items at Society6

k
My latest design "Nouveau Iris" - or "Iris Nouveau" I can never decide which way round I prefer - began her journey many years ago as a small watercolour painting, a fifth of a full circle section created specifically with dinner plates in mind. Poor little thing has been languishing in my flat files waiting to be chosen, scanned and created into a full circle design and then reworked into allover patterns to be uploaded to my various online print on demand shops applied to many and sundry items for you and your home, as gifts to yourself and your family and friends. She has always been a favourite of mine - how odd you can have favourites of your own work!, and I am so glad to see her finished!

I give you:

My new design "Gilding the Lily" - please vote for me at Spoonflower!

Here is my latest design/illustration called "Gilding the Lily" - a title I think is self explanatory!
I originally hand painted this in watercolour on paper and then scanned, cleaned and Photoshopped the files ready to be uploaded both to my Society6 and Spoonflower shops to make it available as iPad and iPhone cases, framed and stretched prints, tote bags, fabric, wallpaper and so much more.

Here are pictures of some of the items with links to purchase them below the images:
Indoor and outdoor pillows available with and without inserts HERE
Shower curtains available HERE

Women's and men's t's are available HERE in a plethora of colours.
Kids t's are available HERE and Baby Onesies HERE

Allover printed tote bags HERE
Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone cases HERE
Mugs are HERE

Rugs are a brand new item at Society6 and they are available HERE

Stationery cards are HERE
For other items and designs in my Society6 shop please click HERE

Gilding the Lily is also available as an archival print, hand signed by me - with personailzed signature if requested - from my ETSY shop

Coincidentally this weeks recent competition at Spoonflower was a call for Lilies so I created my original design into an allover repeat and entered it into the competition - I would be ever so grateful if you would be kind enough to vote for me by clicking on this
You can only vote once, I can't tell you where my design is as it shuffles for each person voting, you click on the tick/check mark upper left, the border goes green and then put in the code at the bottom of the page!
Here's the design to look for:
and here is that design in repeat:
I think I'll be trying this design out with perhaps a blue ground to see how it looks as an alternative/addition to the black.

Here's a pic of her perfect buns:

In the meantime if you would like to bake a faboo cake for Easter why not try a Simnel Cake bursting with dried fruit and oodles of marzipan - click HERE for my recipe.

New Ticker Tape Parade Design and more free worldwide shipping

Welcome to my latest design "Ticker Tape Parade", so cleverly named by my Facebook friend Beryl! After asking for help naming this design Beryl came up with "Ticker Tape" which so perfectly captures not only the ebullient and festive New Year's Eve/somewhat retro spirit of the design but also the sense of traffic lights and busy sidewalks that also spring to my mind.
THANKS BERYL!!

I originally created this in design in gouache on paper before scanning, cleaning in Photoshop and then sizing and formatting for the items you see pictured here. I also made it into an allover repeating pattern for wallpaper and fabric too - doing the repeat is always fun for me as it has the aspect of puzzle piecing to fit the design side to side and top to bottom so there are no breaks or obvious joins in a length of fabric.

I love creating geometric designs like this as they are very meditative in their execution, I plan out the design in pencil line first and then enjoy the process of 'colouring in' the shapes just like a paint by numbers canvas - my illustration paintings/designs created in watercolour require constant mindfulness, and as such they can be quite satisfyingly tiring and time consuming to paint.

I have populated my online shops with Ticker Tape on all manner of items including, but certainly not limited to:
At my Society6 shop
where there is free worldwide shipping until Sunday February 23rd
As you can see I now have wall clocks available at my Society6 shop too

and from my CafePress shop:

"Ticker Tape Parade" is also available as fabric, wallpaper, wrapping paper and wall decals from my

...as a print on wood from my PRINTS ON WOOD SHOP

...and as signed archival prints from my ETSY SHOP

It's the Etsy Maine Team 2nd Annual Cash Mob on November 8th!

I am part of the wonderful Etsy Maine Team - a community of over 700 online shops with over 13,000 items that supports and helps one another promote their shops through the wonderful auspices of Etsy, obviously, Facebook, Twitter and most recently Pinterest.

We are having our 2nd Annual Online Cash Mob (from Wikipedia "A cash mob is a group of people who assemble at a local business to make purchases. The purpose of these mobs is to support both the local businesses and the overall community.") - unlike a physical cash mob ours will be all online to support our team in Maine and hopefully bring an infusion of cash into our local economies.

So mark your calendars please and on November 8th go to www.etsy.com then in the search box type 'maineteam' - all of the items tagged with this word will show up and from there you can narrow your search with the categories listed on the left of the page.

How wonderful to be able to support so many small online businesses from the comfort of your own home with a nice cuppa and still in your PJ's!! No holiday crowds, no driving - just you and your computer, or maybe your mobile - ahhhh!!!

Please help spread the word and thank you in advance for your support of our big day!

Patricia - who, just FYI, designed the poster, illustrated the chickadee (nicknamed Chicka Dee), and created the blueberry background to boot.

I'm member of the month at Etsy Maine Team!!

Thank you to whomsoever put this lovely collage together of my Etsy items!
I am very chuffed (pleased in Blighty/British English) to have been chosen as August's Member of the Month by my wondrous peers on the Etsy Maine Team - an astonishingly supportive and kind group of Mainahs who own Etsy shops and help one another spread the word about their online shops through the auspices of Etsy Maine Team.
I feel a little odd posting this badge as I designed it for the team - but there again I never was a shy person!
Thanks Teamies!!

Happy National Pink Day!!!

I never knew there was such a holiday until a friend alerted me this morning -
I would have done something special to celebrate if only I had known sooner - oh well there's always next June 23rd!!!

Pink Sarah Bernhardt paeonias from my garden - a beautiful flower with a light romantic fragrance
I've always loved pink - I was one of those children who had to have everything pink, and nowadays, if it was just up to me, I would have every surface in our house painted pink including walls, ceiling and floors - really!! It would have to be THE perfect pink though - like the inside of a shell - very pale, very mellow and ever so slightly on the yellow side - never the blue side tending toward magenta - no - not THAT pink.

Please enjoy some of my pink work:

The everlasting Pink Cupcake - as a poster in my Etsy shop

which was featured in this TREASURY, curated by Mollie at Rough Magic Creations, today:

Also in my Etsy shop

"Kristofer's Mandala" iPhone5 case from my CafePress shop
Also from my CafePress shop HERE

...and a Galaxy 4 case from my Society6 shop

Here's a link to my Everything Pink board on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/patriciasheaart/everything-pink/

......and my Pink Christmas board too: http://pinterest.com/patriciasheaart/pink-christmas/
Have a lovely perfectly pink day everyone - Patricia
My favourite pink poppy "Victoria Louise" - sadly she didn't make it through this last winter so I need to find more to plant for next year!!

And please meet Mr. Earl E. Byrd - a charming pink worm ornament made by my friend Faith over at Dab Hands on Etsy
Isn't that the sweetest picture of a worm you've ever seen?

As of July 1st 'follow my blog' is becoming defunct so I have joined Bloglovin' and you can follow me there by clicking the link below - thanks!! Patricia
